Dear Parents and Guardians,

            The Frank Hurt Junior, Break, and Senior Dance teams will be competing at INNOV8 Dance Competition in Kelowna. The students have fundraised $25 each towards the price of the field trip. Each student is required to pay $125 to cover the costs of the hotel and bus. They must also have $10 - $20/day for meals or bring some food with them. There are microwaves and mini-fridges in the hotel rooms. The competition fees, the pizza party and the cost of the supervisors have been covered by our dance accounts and the hotel includes a complimentary hot breakfast.

Please read through the itinerary and rules with your child before you fill in and sign this permission form.

Deadline for permission forms and $125 field trip fee is Friday, April 25, 2014.

Kelowna Field Trip Itinerary
Friday, May 9, 2014
11:15am                                     Meet in the dance room to have your luggage checked
12:00pm                                    On the bus and ready to go
3:00 - 4:30pm                         Stop and have a stretch, get a snack, use the washroom in Merritt
6:00 - 6:30pm                         Stop at grocery store to get any snacks or food to eat for the evening.
6:00                                                  Arrive at Best Western Plus Kelowna (2402 Hwy 97)
6:00 – 11:00pm                         Swim, eat, relax
11:00pm                                      Everyone is in their own rooms and doors are taped closed.

Saturday, May 10, 2014
6:00 – 10:00am                         Enjoy the complimentary hot buffet breakfast.
11:30am             On the bus and ready to go to the INNOV8 competition (Creekside Theatre 10241 Bottom Wood Lake Rd. Lake Country, BC)
5:30pm                                     Doors open to the audience
6:00pm                                     Show starts
9:30pm                                     Show ends
10pm                                                 Pizza party back at the hotel with North Surrey and Panorama Ridge
11:30pm                                     Everyone in their own rooms and doors taped closed.

Sunday, May 11, 2014           
6:00 – 10:00am                         Enjoy the complimentary hot buffet breakfast.
11:00am                                     On the bus and ready to go home!
12:30 – 1:00pm                         Stop and have a stretch, get a snack, use the washroom in Merritt.
5:00pm             Arrive back at Frank Hurt Secondary. Parents please be prompt in picking students up as we will all be tired from the trip.
                       



School Field Trip Rules

If any rule is broken by a student they will be send home at the parents’ expense and dealt with by the school administration.

1.    Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are prohibited for everyone on the trip.
2.    Bags will be checked before we get on the bus.
3.    Everyone must stay in his or her own rooms at curfew (11 and 11:30pm). Your door will be taped from the outside so supervisors can monitor you.
4.    If you and a buddy need to leave the hotel or the group please see Ms. Johnson or Ms. Henderson. You may be allowed to leave if it is important. Please sign out and sign back in upon your return so we know where you are at all times.
5.    All school rules apply on a school field trip.

Examples of Inappropriate Behaviours and Consequences:

1.    Climbing in and out of windows or balconies – sent home
2.    Breaking or destroying hotel property – must pay for damage and sent home
3.    Visiting someone else’s room after curfew – sent home
4.    In possession or under the influence of illegal substances – sent home and removed from the dance team.

These rules are to ensure your safety and the enjoyment of the trip for everyone. Please abide by the rules and enjoy our field trip so that we can run more events like this one.
